The 2019 American Music Awards (AMAs) will soon take place, marking the end of the decade with the presence of several greatest voices in Hollywood. While the annual event will be hosted on November 24, 2019, certain details are already out, making the viewers impatient.
AMAs 2019 will mark the first televised performance of Selena Gomez in two years. The singer had previously taken the stage in 2014, 2015, and 2017, where she mesmerized the audience with her hit song, “Wolves”. Gomez was also previously nominated for two AMAs, and had won the awards for favourite pop/rock female artist award in 2016.
Her most recent album Revival was released in four years ago, October 2015. Besides, she debuted the ballad “Lose You to Love Me” in October this year, initiating the promotions of her yet-to-be-named upcoming album. The song came after the 2018’s soundtrack “Back to You” feature in 13 Reasons Why, and the early 2019 collaboration with Benny Blanco titled “I Can’t Get Enough”.
Following the release of her recent song “Lose You to Love Me”, the singer dropped a second song from upcoming album called “Look At Her Now”.
Apart from the long-absent performance of Selena Gomez, the 2019 AMAs would also be graced by a performance by Taylor Swift. The “Lover” singer would be delivering an act to celebrate the biggest hits of her 13-year career.
The cherry on the cake for Swifties will be the honor of Artist of the Decade, which she would be receiving at this year’s event. Taylor Swift already owns 23 AMAs at home, which makes her the top AMA winner of the decade. Moreover, her shelf possesses the most AMA trophies than any other female artist in history.
“Taylor’s impact on music this decade is undeniable, and her performances on the American Music Awards have been truly spectacular,” Dick Clark Productions executive Mark Bracco said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to honor her as our Artist of the Decade and can’t wait for her to blow everyone away with an epic, career-spanning performance unlike any other!”
The 2019 AMAs most nominated performers’ list includes Post Malone, Ariana Grande, Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift, Lil Nas X, Billy Ray Cyrus, Khalid and Ella Mai.
To be broadcasted live on ABC from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, the 2019 AMAs will celebrate the past 10 years of music industry by highlighting the most memorable moments and past live performances by some big names.
The voting for the 2019 AMAs are open for the fans to make their favorite singers win the titles at the night of the decade.
