Igor Vovkowski, 2.35 meters tall, died Friday in Minnesota, USA, at the age of 38, his mother announced on Facebook. Vovkovinsky suffered from various diseases throughout his life.
The American from Ukraine was diagnosed as a child with a tumor that caused an excessive release of tumor hormones. Due to his ill health, his family moved to Rochester, Minnesota, a city known for its medical care. Despite the treatment, Vovkovinsky continued to grow, reaching record levels and earning a place in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Vovkovinsky was known when he shook hands with former President Barack Obama (60) at an event.

Beyond everyone in the crowd, Obama noticed a man wearing a shirt who was “the biggest Obama supporter in the world.” At the Eurovision Song Contest 2013, Vovkovinsky carried a representative of Ukraine on stage in his arms.
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, the tallest man in the world is currently the Turkish Sultan Kozan (38 / 2.51 m). However, the tallest man of the modern age is the American Robert Watlow, who is 2.72 meters tall. He died in 1940 at the age of 22.
