Biden Campaign: Holding Rudy Giuliani’s interview is “disservice to journalism”

in Politics

With Rudy Giuliani having an extensive presence on the news channels lately, the advisors of Biden campaign have asked the media to not air his interviews anymore. The call which senior adviser Anita Dunn and deputy campaign manager Kate Bedingfield raised is considered to ensure that the Presidential campaign of former Vice-President does not take a spin.

The letter was sent to various news media and also to the political anchors of various famed broadcasting channels including Jake Tapper, Chuck Todd and Chris Wallace. The officials overseeing his campaign claimed that Giuliani with his interview is misleading the public. Also, he has not been held accountable for his accusations or change in the stance.

In their note, the pair of top advisors of Biden campaign said, “We are writing today with grave concern that you continue to book Rudy Giuliani on your air to spread false, debunked conspiracy theories on behalf of Donald Trump.”

“Giving Rudy Giuliani valuable time on your air to push these lies in the first place is a disservice to your audience and a disservice to journalism.”

The letter further added, “While you often fact check his statements in real time during your discussions, that is no longer enough. By giving him your air time, you are allowing him to introduce increasingly unhinged, unfounded and desperate lies into the national conversation.”

The move will certainly prove helpful to the Biden Campaign as it will shift the focus from Joe Biden’s role in his son’s business in Ukraine to his policies and the upcoming Democratic debate, helping him to remain in the lead of the presidential race

While Giuliani has not responded to the comment on media channels, he posted a message on Twitter saying, “Reminds me of the reaction to the corrupt pols of the 70’s and 80’s. They have their Dem media trying to destroy my reputation and silence me!”

“They believe they own the media and they are demanding that they silence me. They know I have incriminating facts, not hearsay, because they know what they did in selling Joe’s office to a Ukrainian crook.”

The advisors of the Biden Campaign are not the only ones to have raise concerns against Giuliani. Previously, Democratic hopeful Kamala Harris had asked the New York Bar Association to disbar Giuliani.

Although, the road for the presidential primaries has not been easy for former Vice President, he has successfully managed to remain in the lead. The only question that remains is will Biden come out unscathed, leading the presidential race since he is in the middle of the controversy surrounding Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the misleading interviews of Trump’s personal lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
