The man shoots at the supermarket
Early in the morning, a man shoots at a Tennessee supermarket. At least 14 people were hit by bullets, one of whom died. And many more are in danger of death. The motive of the shooter is not yet clear.
At least one person has been killed after a gunman opened fire at a supermarket in Tennessee. The bomber struck shortly after noon in the small town of Collierville. According to initial findings, the shooter shot himself, city police chief Dale Lande told a news conference.
According to police, at least 13 people were shot dead, many were seriously injured and many more were in danger of death. One died. According to CNN, the alarm went off at the police station at 1:30 p.m. When special forces entered the building, they found several wounded. Officers went from room to room to evacuate staff and customers. People locked themselves in offices or hid in freezers from the attacker, Lane said. An employee was rescued from the roof of the building.
“I’ve been in this field for 34 years and I’ve never seen anything like it,” Lane said. The purpose of the action is not clear. The car of the shooter is now being inspected. It is also being investigated whether the shooter had any contact with the supermarket. The number of injured and dead is likely to rise, the police chief said.
