Brock Purdy is ‘total package’ as 49ers’ long-term QB, Greg Papa claims

Is the long-term answer for the 49ers’ Brock Purdy at the quarterback position? Greg Papa certainly thinks so.

In the final segment of “Ask Papa,” 49ers announcer was asked by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Mayocco what he saw of the rookie that made him think Purdy had a chance to be San Francisco’s long-term answer to the position.

“Everything,” said Baba. “I can ask and ask for what I haven’t seen. He’s the whole package… I saw him from training camp.

“When you look at him, he’s got total command. Written, unscripted, tough on the road in a hostile environment. What more does he have to prove than just going to do it on a professional set of work? I can’t think of anything he’s weak at.” . it is smaller; He doesn’t have Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes’ elite arm, but he does have enough arm. This does not mean that he will not have bad games. “

Although Papa believes Purdy has the necessary attributes to be a strong NFL player, he realizes that the Iowa product is not ideal.

“So he doesn’t have an elite arm, he doesn’t have an elite size, but he has everything else,” Baba explained. “And he has the intangible elite.”

Purdy, who replaced an injured Trey Lance, is the 49ers’ third starting quarterback under center position this season, and arguably his most productive.

Whether or not Purdy can lead San Francisco to the Super Bowl remains to be seen, however, Papa believes the 22-year-old has a good chance of taking over the starting role for the foreseeable future.
