No one expected: Swedish climate activist Greta Dunberg sang to a surprise audience in support of climate protection in Stockholm. Along with another climate activist, the 18-year-old danced to it this Saturday evening, in front of a tumultuous crowd called “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley in the 80s.
According to the Swedish newspaper “Aftonbladet”, this is the first time that Tunberg has shown his singing ability in public. “We young people in the end are fooling each other, not just the angry kids that the media often portrays us to,” he told the newspaper after the show.
However, Greta should not be a stranger to showing off her business: her mother, Malena Erman, 50, and her sister, Beta Erman Dunberg, 16, are both in the music industry, as Aftonbladet puts it. Thai Malena, actually an opera singer, represented her home country at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest.
Saturday’s concert in Stockholm is part of a series organized in 45 countries by climate protection activists and festival organizer Livegreen titled “The Future for Fridays” entitled “Climate Live”.
