The singer was detained last week in Chicago on Thursday night for two separate federal indictments in Illinois and New York. He is currently in solitary confinement at the federal Metropolitan Correctional Center in Chicago.

In Tuesday’s verdict, a judge denied the singer the bond and sentenced him to remain in custody to face the hearing on the charges of child pornography. The 52-year-old R&B star also petitioned not guilty to a 13-count indictment to the judge in Chicago federal courtroom.

He is currently charged with one count of conspiracy to receive child pornography, two counts of receiving child pornography, four counts of producing child pornography, five counts of enticement of a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity, and one count of conspiracy to obstruct justice.

The problems do not seem to end for the singer anytime soon as he is facing a turnabout from a girl. The girl, who is now in her 30s, has agreed to testify against R Kelly after refusing earlier in 2008. She is currently assisting the federal investigators as well however, the extent of assistance is yet unknown.

Earlier, the singer was accused with 11 charges at the State Attorney’s office in Cook County on Thursday. These charges included four counts of aggravated criminal sex assault, three counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, two counts of criminal sex assault by force and two counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse

The prosecutors disagreed on his release by bonds and termed R Kelly as “an extreme danger to the community, especially to minor girls” who has a “unique ability to influence and intimidate witnesses and victims, and that continues to this day”.

To this, Kelly’s attorney Steve Greenberg retaliated by saying, “The man is not a flight risk. The man never missed a court date in the 2000s when he was charged with a case. He hasn’t missed a court date on the state case that’s pending now.”

“It’s the worst-kept secret that he was going to get charged federally, and he hasn’t fled. So he’s certainly not a flight risk. He’s not a danger to anybody at all,” he added.

The singer is scheduled to appear for the hearing on September 4 even though he has continuously denied the accusations made against him. Seeing the accusations made against R Kelly, it seems that the decision of not providing bond suits his acts.
