Melinda and Bill Gates’ marriage is about to end. The founder of Microsoft and his wife declare a divorce in a joint statement. The pair also indicate a reason for the split.
American billionaire Bill Gates and his wife Melinda are getting a divorce. “After careful consideration and a lot of work in our relationship, we have decided to end our marriage,” the Microsoft founder and his wife said in a similar statement on Twitter on Monday. “We no longer believe we can grow together as a couple,” says Rational.
“Over the past 27 years we have raised three incredible children and built a foundation that works globally to help people live healthier and more productive lives,” the two continued. It was said that they would continue this work together. In the communications, the couple also heard about “privacy for our family as we begin to find our way into this new life”.
Together, the couple co-founded the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the world’s largest private charity. Among other things, it is involved in the global fight against disease – and is also active in the fight against corona infection. The “New York Times” quoted a report by the Foundation as saying that no changes would be expected from the separation of spouses. “They will continue to work together to formulate and approve the Foundation’s strategy, to support the Foundation’s concerns and to set the direction of the organization,” it said.
By 2019, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation says it has already spent more than $ 54 billion on projects. One of the Foundation’s biggest supporters is investment legend Warren Buffett, who has already donated more than $ 20 billion to the company’s capital.
