Philadelphia – The Philadelphia Eagles’ fresh-faced offensive was impressive in their only series – and this was without DeVonta Smith (discharged with a thigh injury). Jalen Hurts went 6-for-6 for 80 yards on opening possession, capping a 22-yard touchdown pass to Dallas Guedert as the Philadelphians lead the New York Jets 14-3 at halftime.
Hurts Quez hit Watkins on his first pass down and never looked back, not targeting AJ Brown (who made his Eagles debut) in his short period. The Eagles’ defense looked good in one series, with Keizer White picking Zach Wilson for a 27-yard comeback that landed Jason Huntley after a starting exit.
Wilson left the match with a knee injury and his return was in doubt. As this is a pre-season issue, the Jets don’t want to risk further injury to the franchise quarterback.
Nakobi Dean leads the Eagles with five tackles, as the rising full-back was impressive on his debut. Dean received four tackles on the first ball, and entered the match with the second team’s defense.
The second half will feature plenty of second and third team players, but stay tuned to the live blog here for all the updates and pre-season stories you’ve been following in camp!
