Singer Gloria Estefon shared her childhood experiences of abuse. “Ninety-three percent of abused children know the perpetrators, believe them, and I know because I was one of them,” the 64-year-old said in his talk show on Thursday (local time): “Red Table: Stephens,” he said, referring to his daughter Emily Estefan (26) and daughter-in-law Lily. “He’s a family, but not a close family,” the singer continued. At the age of nine, Gloria’s mother sent her to her music school and the culprit was in power. He told his mother, “I’m so talented, I need special attention, and he’s so lucky that he cares about me.”

The perpetrator threatened to kill her mother if she told him about the abuse. That’s why initially she pretended to be unwell so that she wouldn’t have to go to music school. “I knew that man was crazy, so I thought he could actually do something to my mom,” Estefan said during the group discussion.
One day she could not bear it and told her mother about her cruelty. “Then the police came,” she continued. However, officials advised him not to go to court. “Knowing that there must have been other victims is something that makes me feel bad.” The American-Cuban singer said she was talking about domestic abuse.
