New York City restaurateur Keith McNally has forgiven James Corden after claiming the “Late Late Show” host was The ‘worst’ client he ever had.
McNally, “James Corden just called me and apologized deeply.” wrote on Instagram Monday night. “Having obsessed myself more than most people, I believe strongly in second chances.”
McNally, the owner of the famous restaurant Balthazar, went on to joke that if the 44-year-old was allowed to host a late-night talk show for “9 months” he would revoke his ban on the famous French brasserie.
“No, of course not. But … no one who is generous enough to apologize to a reckless person like me (and my staff) deserves to be banned from anywhere. Especially Balthasar,” he continued, adding, “Everything is forgiven.”
His decision to give Corden a second chance came after McNally – known as “the restaurateur who invented downtown” – said he had to “86” (expel or ban) the comedian from his restaurants because of his mistreatment of staff.
in Snappy post on Instagram Earlier in the day, the 71-year-old shared two “examples of the funny man’s treatment” of his employees across some of his establishments.
In June, the owner claimed Corden became angry after finding hair in his food, demanded free drinks and threatened to leave negative reviews for the restaurant.
Alongside a photo of the actor, he wrote: “After eating his main course, Corden showed his hair to Balthasar’s manager J. who was deeply apologetic.” Corden was so bad for G, he said, ‘Bring us another round of drinks this second. And also take care of all our drinks so far. This way I write any bad comments in yelp or anything like that. “
In a second incident earlier this month, an “Into the Woods” actor allegedly yelled at his servant when his wife’s brunch order was incorrectly served.
Corden’s wife ordered an egg yolk omelet with Gruyere cheese and a salad. A few minutes after receiving the food, James called their server, MK and told her there was a little bit of egg white mixed with the yolk. MK reported the floor manager, G., the kitchen remade The dish but unfortunately I send it with french fries instead of the salad.”
According to the manager’s notes from the incident, Corden began “crazy yelling for the server,” saying, “You can’t do your job! You can’t do your job! Maybe I should go into the kitchen and cook the omelette myself!”
The celebrity restaurant owner told Page Six that he was “hesitant” to post about the actor’s behavior but wanted to protect his employees.
“Their jobs are hard enough already. They shouldn’t take that kind of abuse from anyone, especially the rich and famous,” he told us.
