Marin was criticized after a video of her dancing and partying with friends was leaked. Marin later defended his right to privacy, insisting he had “never missed a day of work” so far.

“I am a human being, and sometimes I miss joy, light and fun amidst these dark clouds,” the Finns’ leader said with a trembling voice on Wednesday at his party in Lahti, Finland. She received a standing ovation from the audience.

After speculation that drugs were involved at the party about two weeks ago, Marin took a drug test. It turned negative.

The youngest prime minister in Finland’s history is a social democrat. When he took office in 2019, he was the youngest head of government in the world at the age of 34.

Baerbach: “Politicians have private lives”

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbach (41, Greens) also defended Marin over the party videos.

“Even if it comes as a shock to some: politicians are people, they have private lives,” Baerbach said Friday in Copenhagen. “I also like music, and when I have some private time, I not only play cards, but unfortunately I was not at a party during my vacation, but at a rock concert.”

Green Party politician Hannah Newman also had one in the Finns debate Video Released by the Green Party Conference in 2018, where people danced with enthusiasm. Baerbach, along with others, rocked his hips with her on a hill.
