Not much time has passed since the announcement of casting Halle Bailey as Disney’s animated character Ariel. The news was not only welcomed by fans, but beautiful Bailey based Ariel character were designed and appreciated over the social media.
It now seems that a popular franchise is about to be taken up by a storm with the introduction of a black woman in the lead role.
As per the latest news, Lashana Lynch, 31-year-old Captain Marvel star, will be starring as the iconic James Bond in the upcoming Bond 25 movie, which is also going to be the last movie of Daniel Craig in the Bond series.
Writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge will be introducing Lynch as the new 007 of MI6. According to her, while Lynch will be the replacement for Craig within the agency, it is still undecided who will take over the titular role of James Bond in the 26th film of the franchise.
As per the reports, “There is a pivotal scene at the start of the film where M says ‘Come in 007’, and in walks Lashana who is black, beautiful and a woman. It’s a popcorn-dropping moment. Bond is still Bond but he’s been replaced as 007 by this stunning woman.”
Lashana Lynch, who also appeared on shows like Crims and Still Star-Crossed, will have the ability to deliver a role of “Someone who can kill, and then also be charming” in the Bond 25.
While there have been many iconic changes in the Hollywood movies ranging from Spiderman: Homecoming to Avengers: Endgame, the change in role of Ariel and 007 spy has led to the dawn of age, where diversity is not only believed but also followed.
Though it is of belief that many purists and staunch fans of the series might oppose the move, the announcement has already garnered a great amount of appreciation.
The movie is set to release on April 03, 2020 despite all the concerns that were raised during its production. However, the announcement of new 007 spy in the Bond 25, who also happens to be a beautiful black woman, has surely the fans on the edge of excitement.
