The biggest night of the year is back in no time!
The first Monday of May is here again, and so is the Met Gala 2019 extravaganza. It seems like yesterday, when the top artists assembled at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute, following the annual fundraiser event’s theme as they embraced the red carpet last year.
While the world is looking forward to the 71st anniversary of the Met Ball, the pre-celebrations have already begun. Last night, celebrity stars revealed a glimpse of their fashion statement at the pre-Met Gala dinner, and the Lady Gaga stole the show.
From the time of arriving in the New York City to the dinner celebrations, A Star is Born actress swamped her Instagram with several different looks. The Oscar winner posted the first picture from inside her private plane, where she was seen wearing a summery dress with black Dr Martens combat boots.
The post took attention because of the caption, where Gaga informed the viewers, “I didn’t shave my legs for 4 days which really completes the look.”
Lady Gaga will be co-hosting the Met Gala 2019 with the former One Direction member, Harry Styles. Besides, the two will oddly be accompanied by Tennis player, Serena Williams.
Both Gaga and Styles were one of the most talked-about looks of the Sunday night dinner.
The “Joanne” artist made a big statement, as she wore a short black and white striped dress with layered ruffles from the Marc Jacobs 2019 Fall runway. The look was paired with a black vertical fascinator and a teeny tiny black purse.
On the other hand, the 25-year-old “Sign of the Times” singer appeared as charming as ever in a red velvet blazer layered over a white vest, showing off his twin bird tattoos. The look was dressed down with loose-fitting black trousers and white shoes, accessorizing it with layered necklaces that also included a Gucci pendant.
The Met Gala 2019, to be held on May 6, is based on the theme, “Camp: Notes on Fashion,” and the stars are expected to display their best interpretation at the event.
The Vogue editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour, who has served as the Met Gala co-chair nearly every year since 1995 and hand picks the guest list, said, “It is interesting when you say to people, ‘The exhibition this year is going to be on camp,’ and you see their minds going.”
Gucci, which has mostly remained consistently committed to camp of all the major fashion houses, will be hosting the Met Gala 2019. Last year, the fundraiser event was based on the blockbuster theme “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and Catholic Imagination”. Several celebrities, including the Kardashian, Jenner and Hadid clans, as well as Rihana, Amal Clooney and Lena Waithe rocked the event in their stunning outfits.
Met Gala 2018 had raised over $12 million. While the viewers are awaiting to see their idols and their interpretation of the theme, the funds that the event will raise is also being anticipated.
The much-awaited night just came and viewers couldn’t have enough of it! The Met Gala 2019
