“No more sleeping on the street” – the homeless man admits to murder

For a bizarre reason, a homeless man in the UK admitted to murder almost 38 years later. “You know what, I’m homeless, I’m not sleeping on the street anymore,” the 58 – year – old told police. This was announced by the Crown Prosecution Service in London.

The man pleaded guilty in court on Friday to killing a 50-year-old man in December 1983. When he was annoyed by the other’s opinion he killed him with a marble ash. The verdict is set to be announced on October 13.

The case was filed in 1985. But that changed 35 years later. In the early hours of July 28, 2020, a homeless man threw stones at a police station London.

When an officer appeared, he confessed to the man. During the investigation, authorities were able to assign DNA found in a cigarette butt to the accused at the crime scene. (dpa / ari)
