Omigran variant: People with coronavirus show abnormal symptoms

So far, victims of the corona variant Omigran in South Africa have not been seriously ill. But they show unusual symptoms.

Cape Town – New so far Corona– According to the Local Medical Association (SAMA), people affected by variant Omikron in South Africa are not yet seriously ill. Angélique Coetzee, president of the South African Medical Association, told the British BBC the Omicron cases found so far in his country were not serious. However, studies of this variation are still at an early stage. In the country, only 24 percent of the population is fully vaccinated.

“Patients often complain of physical aches and pains and fatigue, extreme fatigue, and we see this in the younger generation, not the elderly,” he said. Godzi said it was not about patients being admitted directly to the hospital.

He told the Telegraph that one should worry that the new variant could hit the elderly more severely with diabetes or heart disease. In South Africa, only about six percent of the population is over 65 years of age.
