Ricky Martin received a $3 million lawsuit from his former manager Rebecca Drucker.
Drucker — who worked with Martin from 2014 to 2018 and then again from 2020 to 2022 — is suing the Latin music icon, 50, for unpaid commissions, According to legal documentsWednesday in Los Angeles District Court, citing a “potentially career-ending allegation.”
Drucker noted that she worked with him on two separate occasions due to his “personal and professional life [being] in utter turmoil” and allegedly helped the Puerto Rican singer navigate the world of “record contracts, tour deals and sponsorships, and other professional pursuits.”
“Rebecca Drucker saved Ricky Martin’s career,” claimed the 15-page lawsuit seen by The Post. “There’s only one problem: Martin has outright and maliciously refused to pay Rebecca the millions of dollars in kickbacks he owes her under their management agreement.”
“With Rebecca at his side, Martin made millions of dollars and therefore owes Rebecca significant commissions,” the complaint alleged.
The Post has reached out to a Martin representative for comment.
Drucker also alleged in the lawsuit that the “Livin’ la Vida Loca” singer was threatened and intimidated by an “allegation that could end his career” in September 2020.
“Rebecca also very protective of Martin,” she claimed in the lawsuit, noting that she “advised him and brought in the highest litigation attorney to handle the matter.”
Due to her assistance and knowledge of the music industry, she noted that Martin “came out unscathed and continued his career advancement.”
“Now she is set to play a leading role in the highly anticipated Apple TV+ series.” and Mrs. American Bay, “Martin is poised once again to reach the pinnacle of fame and fortune,” Drucker claimed.
The lawsuit also accuses Martin of having a “toxic work environment” and discusses a “particularly ugly incident in Dubai involving Martin and his representative Jose Vega” in 2018.
Drucker also alleged in the lawsuit that while Martin’s “career has flourished since he reappointed Rebecca as his manager in May 2020,” she “has had to deal with a range of personal issues for Martin, such as problems with the nanny he hired to look after his children, and Martin’s failure to pay to taxes and drug abuse.
The document then alleged that there was a “forced” termination of their business relationship and claimed that the former Minudo singer had manipulated and lied to her, leading to her departure earlier this year.
Drucker alleged that Martin “threatened” her to keep her mouth shut and to remain silent with a nondisclosure agreement. She refused to sign a nondisclosure agreement and requested a jury trial and the reasons for the action in her file.
