The tropical cyclone “Shaheen” hit the southeastern tip of the Arabian Peninsula with hurricane force. Many deaths occurred in the Sultanate of Oman.
The tropical cyclone “Shaheen” has reached the southeast of the Arabian Peninsula. The storm reached Oman and the wind speed was more than 120 kilometers per hour. According to meteorologists, “Shaheen” weakened after hitting the ground.
The epicenter was reported below the Pacific Ocean floor, however; no tsunami alert was issued.
Many died, including a child

The National Crisis Committee announced that it would cut off power supply in particularly dangerous areas to prevent accidents. Air traffic in Oman has come to a standstill, and flights to and from Muscat have to be canceled. Arrangements are also being made for hurricane protection in neighboring Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
