“The worst thing I have to do in my life is to come home and tell my kids that their dad couldn’t do it.”
These words come from mother Gina Hickson twelve times after her husband Reid († 49) died in Corona. Texan has been fighting the corona virus for a month. He has now lost that fight.

According to several American media reports, the American was diagnosed with corona in August. Apart from him, other family members are also affected, but the children’s study is mild.
But not with Reid Hickson, its condition worsened over the weeks. The 49-year-old finally arrived at the intensive care unit of a hospital where his family wanted to give him extra ventilation with the help of a special machine.
The only chance to “stay alive”
In the so-called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), simply put, oxygen is delivered to the human body, thus weakening the lungs, often by the corona.
Gina Hickson made up her mind on Facebook: “We need one more ECMO bed. We really only need one thing, yes?
However, the epidemic led to the increased use of these specialized devices. So Reid Hickson could not be connected to one of the life-saving machines. The father of twelve children died on September 20th.
He is survived by his wife, Gina, and children, Kayla, Mason, Leah, Connor, Reese, Lily, Morgan, Lance, Chase, Hensley, Kazan and Ryker. An online fundraising campaign has been launched.
It says: “Our hearts are broken. There is no explanation for the torn vacuum in this family.” So far, nearly $ 75,000 has been raised and this money is to be used for hospital expenses.
