War in Ukraine: Germany expels 40 Russian ambassadors to Pucha

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zhelensky has again accused former President Angela Merkel of preventing Ukraine from joining NATO.. At the outcome of the 2008 NATO summit in Bucharest, Merkel and then-French President Nicolas Sarkozy allowed themselves to be influenced by Russia. He said during a visit to Bucha, where Zelenskyj was found murdered by hundreds of civilians, according to his presidential office.

The day before, Selenskiz had asked Merkel to meet with Pucha to see the catastrophe with her own eyes. A spokeswoman for Merkel said she was committed to the 2008 NATO summit and supported Russia’s efforts to end the war of aggression in Ukraine.

“I think she understood my signal very well.”, Now Selenskyj said. At the Bucharest summit, many NATO members saw Ukraine as a new member. Other heads of state and government – “I believe Angela is one of those leaders” – were against it, Zelenskyj said. In doing so, he reinforced the impression in Russia that he could influence the EU.
